How hard to could it be to cultivate the soils and make them available to local organic farmers? After all, a handful of healthy soil has literally billions of species. Across the street from the backyard where SymSoil started was a woodpile, which over a decade had sprouted dozens of different types of mushrooms. There was two feet of redwood litter next to the carport and rotting oak trees on the nearby trails.

At the time of SymSoil's conception, thoughts of a facility with thousands of cubic yards in annual production and hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of equipment weren't on the radar. SymSoil was not yet connected with the the multiple regulatory agencies with responsibility for protecting the public from runoff water and waste streams, as it is now.

Simply put, SymSoil started as a dream to do its part to help the planet. Before long, SymSoil had a full team setting microbe traps bring the wild, indigenous microbes into a number of compost piles and quickly outgrew the backyard in which the dream had begun.

Spira seeks to solve the basic human need of food. Using filamentous cyanobacteria as a platform, we are working to provide a better-tasting, more nutritious, and cost-effective staple food source that is accessible to all.

Daniel the founder of Strata Farms was born and raised on a family farm in the Royal City, Washington. He became a professional civil engineer in water resources and moved to Portland in 2008. Daniel is married with three children. You may see the whole crew pitching-in at farmers markets!

Daniel became intrigued by numerous benefits of indoor vertical farming such as water efficiency, decreased land usage, proximity to markets, higher yields, 365 days a year production, and resilience to (and as a solution for) droughts and other extreme weather events that plague traditional farmers. Daniel founded Strata Farms LLC in February 2015. Strata Farms became a Vendor at the Portland Farmers Markets in April. Currently, Strata Farms is a vendor at the PSU Portland and Beaverton Farmers Markets on Saturdays. We are also a vendor at Forest Heights Farmers Market the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Our produce can also be found at local restaurants and cafes on Intel's campuses in Hillsboro

Our company model is simple grow hard and grow at home. We build or provide the equipment grow for you while you kick back and enjoy the yields. Are business is fairly new but have quickly generated such a buzz and spike in sales that we were quickly forced us to move our mobile business to a centralized store front location. Grow Club DC is a cannabis service provider, specializing in equipment set up and maintenance. Glascock Equipment is started in the back yard of Loren and Janice Glascock in 1976. In 1978, they moved the company to its current location south of Veedersburg, IN on State Road 32.

When Loren and Janice started the company they sold livestock trailers. Over the past 40 years the brands and types of equipment sold has changed. In 1992, John Peter Abt founded The Terawet Corporation while doing research in the field of super absorbent polymer technologies.
