For almost ten years we have been designing and building local food systems and ecological farms, and our production cannot keep up with demand.

We started with a food growing experiment called the loft, a project featuring over 200 plants in an industrial unit, both indoors and out. Today we are the road map for landowners to build and operate their own farms, operating on a 65-acres in Schomberg, and we’ve worked with farmers, growers, restaurateurs and local food initiatives alike.

NovaBioRubber develops processing and growing technologies to produce biorubber, non-allergic biolatex and prebiotic inulin from rubber-producing plants. Taraxacum kok-saghyz (TKS) contains 24% rubber and 40% inulin. Our patented green process for biorubber recovery provides significant savings in processing costs. Processing is carried out continuously at room temperature using our innovative rubber extractor.

What is the purpose of this project and its particularity in the competition market?

Our aim is to promote co-development on an international scale. Cocoa production mainly takes place in the tropics, it was important to try and address the difficult working conditions of smallholder in Africa in 8 isolated communities (The Yembuni zone, Central Region of Cameroon) where we have started operations on a family farm in 2010. Cocoa is a profitable resource for international markets, so it must be the same for smallholder farmers in African rural areas.

We are fortunate to find ourselves in an environment that allows the creation of start-up companies. That is why via crowdfunding platforms and meeting entrepreneurs, we were able to achieve some of our objectives in the short and medium term.
