Lowercase Capital used to invest in startups and advise an array of companies and private funds. That was fun. Our approach was weird, just like our cowboy shirts. We learned a lot, helped as much as we could, and it worked out well for us.

But while investing is one of our things, it is not our only thing. So, in April of 2017, we announced we would no longer be raising new venture funds. In critical times like these, we think some stuff is more important than business.

TiE Angels is one of the largest angel groups in Silicon Valley. Part of the TiE Silicon Valley chapter, TiE Angels brings together promising early stage companies and exposes them to serial entrepreneurs, high tech executives, and other professional investors.

TiE Angels and it's 150+ active members leverages TiE's global network—the world's largest entrepreneurial network—of over 60 chapters around the world, to help portfolio companies meet the challenges of scaling into successful enterprises. Since launching in July 2010, the TiE Angels forum has become an address for early stage technology entrepreneurs and investors to meet.

Beacon Angels is a Boston-based angel group that makes investments in the $50,000 to $300,000 range in small, fast-growing companies. Since our 2006 founding, Beacon has helped to grow many successful New England-based startup companies. Exits so far, in multiples from 0.5X to 8X, have returned several millions of dollars of proceeds to Beacon member investors, with a combined IRR of cash plus estimated valuation increases significantly exceeding amounts invested.

Established in 2001, Charleston Angel Partners is the area’s longest-tenured and most established angel investment group. The top priorities of Charleston Angel Partners are to make investing simple and profitable for our members and to assist our portfolio companies in reaching their goals. We believe that meaningful economic impact happens when great people support great ideas.

Founded in 2006, Mid-America Angels (“MAA”) is a regional network of accredited investors dedicated to identifying and funding the most promising early stage companies in the Kansas-Missouri region.

The MAA network funds deals in the investment range of $250,000 to $1,500,000. MAA typically participates in seed, Series A and Series B rounds. Depending on the size of the capital raise, MAA can either lead the round or be part of the investment syndicate.

The MAA network provides the structure to aggregate the knowledge, experience, and investment capital of its membership. This approach provides an effective and efficient process both for investors to evaluate opportunities and for entrepreneurs who are seeking funding.

The Enterprise Center in Johnson County (“ECJC”) provides professional administrative and management services for MAA. ECJC specializes in providing business development services to early stage technology companies and entrepreneurs.

NCN is a partnership of more than 100 professional investors, most of whom have been founders and executives of highly successful companies. NCN leverages the experience and expertise of the individuals within its partnership to identify, develop, and support promising, high-growth companies. NCN manages several investment funds including NCN Angel Fund I, NCN Angel Fund II, Tennessee Angel Fund, and NCN Partners Fund.

We look for technology-based companies (software, data/analytics, medical devices, bio-tech, life sciences, photonics, ag-tech, clean-tech, and energy) in Montana, Northern Rockies, and the Northwest region at the “Seed” and “A” stages. We're a bit flexible on geography and will occasionally do a"Pre-Seed" or a "B" round, but we're pretty disciplined about sticking to our preferred tech sectors.
Our preference is to find companies with unique and defensible intellectual property; a tech-leveraged business model; a core of strong management; and evidence of market demand for their product/solution. However, we're comfortable with early-stage risks and like to hear from companies with some particular strengths, even if they're missing one or two of the elements above.

Golden Seeds is an investment firm dedicated to achieving above market returns for investors through the empowerment of women entrepreneurs. The Angel CoFund (ACF) is a UK based venture capital fund that co-invests alongside syndicates of sector-smart Angel investors, to fund and scale some of the best high-potential early-stage businesses.
Launched in 2011, ACF’s experienced team has a track record of backing some of the UK’s best success stories through its proven co-investment model, working alongside the unrivalled skills and expertise of the fund’s network of entrepreneurs and private investor partners.
